URGENSI DAN IMPLIKASI PELAKSANAAN KURIKULUM MERDEKA PADA SEKOLAH DASAR/MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH

Curriculum is an important element in maximizing the quality of education. Likewise with the birth of an Merdeka curriculum. The Merdeka curriculum is here to overcome learning loss that occurred due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. An Merdeka curriculum gives freedom to educators/teachers and students/students in carrying out the learning process. This study uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. The results obtained are that: 1) the urgency of implementing an Merdeka curriculum at the elementary school level apart from the recovery factor from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, with an Merdeka curriculum aimed at enabling students to develop. Growing courage, independence, enthusiasm for learning, self-confidence, optimism, growing freedom of thought and being able to accept success and mistakes. The Merdeka curriculum applies inclusive learning in its class, where teachers need to introduce various differences to students. Inclusion is meant in a broader sense, namely differences in physical matters, race, religion, and so on. So that learning activities are also carried out flexibly. Where the teacher implements the learning according to the level of students. 2) The implications of implementing an Merdeka curriculum at the elementary school/madrasah ibtidaiyah level are in curriculum simplification, implementation of national exams, simplification of lesson plans, the teaching profession, implementation of Learning Outcomes (CP), learning science and social studies to become IPAS and skills subjects removed to be integrated with art subjects.[I1]
